To keep support fast, reliable, and fair, here is a clear guide to what our support team can help you with, and what falls outside our scope.

What Kouchd support helps with

Our team at help@kouchd.com provides technical and account support for the Kouchd app:
  • Account access & sign-in: Help logging into your account, updating your email address, or resolving sign-in difficulties.
  • App questions & features: Clarifying how stay agreements, the Ledger, chore boards, or notification settings work.
  • Technical issues & bugs: Investigating unexpected screen errors, buttons not responding, display problems, or trouble loading household data.
  • Notifications & reminders: Assisting with email delivery or updating your optional text reminder preferences.
  • Account deletion & data export: Helping you close an account or export your stay records.

What Kouchd does NOT handle

Kouchd provides the shared digital workspace, but we are not a landlord, property manager, roommate mediator, or bank. To protect member privacy and keep household boundaries respected, Kouchd does not handle or intervene in:
Stay conflicts and personal disputes: Kouchd does not mediate, investigate, or resolve interpersonal disagreements between hosts and guests. We do not handle conflicts over house rules, noise, cleanliness, visitor policies, personal space, or personality clashes. Household members are responsible for communicating with each other and resolving disagreements directly.
Money collection, transfers, and refunds: Kouchd does not collect, hold, escrow, transfer, or process payments. All financial exchanges happen directly outside Kouchd using the payment methods host and guest agree upon (such as Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, or cash). Kouchd support cannot reverse, refund, or enforce external payments.
  • Lease enforcement or legal disputes: Kouchd does not give legal advice, enforce residential lease agreements, or handle eviction notices. Your stay arrangement is subject to your local residential laws and personal agreements.
  • Property damage or maintenance: Kouchd cannot inspect properties, repair fixtures, or resolve disagreements about security deposits or physical repairs.

How to handle stay disagreements

If you and your host or guest disagree on something during a stay, we recommend the following practical steps:
  1. Talk directly and openly: Most misunderstandings come down to unstated assumptions. Sit down together or message directly to share your perspective with respect.
  2. Review your agreed terms: Check the Stay tab to review the house guidelines, stay dates, and contribution rate you both agreed upon.
  3. Use the Ledger for clarity: If an entry was logged incorrectly on the Ledger, discuss the numbers together. The person who recorded it (or the host) can void the entry so it can be re-recorded accurately.
  4. Update terms mutually: If the arrangement needs to change, the host can adjust the agreement terms in the app so both parties have a clear, updated reference.
