# Kouchd product roadmap

> A clear view of what is available, in progress, and still being explored.

## Available in the current web app

* Shared stay details, household notes, and chores.
* Contribution records for payments arranged outside Kouchd, groceries, supplies, and other agreed help.
* Individual guest agreements: hosts can tailor stay dates and contribution terms per guest while keeping household guidelines shared. Guests review and accept the agreement that applies to them.
* Host-shared external payment options: hosts can share payment details or links for PayPal, Cash App, Zelle, or Apple Pay. Guests pay the host outside Kouchd.
* Payment reminders that reflect due dates, accepted grace periods, late-fee terms, and the current ledger. Email and optional SMS follow saved preferences and notification service availability.
* Host and guest views, with guest financial details shown to the guest and the host managing that stay.
* Optional email reminders and opt-in transactional SMS preferences.

## Not available in Kouchd

  **In-app payment processing:** Kouchd does not collect, hold, transfer, or process payments. Hosts and guests arrange payments directly using shared external payment details or other methods they choose.

## In progress

* **Flexible payment schedules and recorded overnights:** Guests can choose daily or weekly contributions, select an initial weekday for weekly payments, and request later schedule changes for host approval. The work includes partial contribution tracking, a zero-due-balance requirement, a 14-day change limit, and prorated charges when a schedule changes. Hosts can also choose to bill an individual guest only for completed overnights they record; nonconsecutive nights are logged separately, and weekly rates are prorated across recorded nights. When late fees are enabled, the $5 daily or $25 weekly fee follows the accepted agreement’s grace period.

## Being explored

* **Native iOS experience:** A production-connected iOS app is in development, using the earlier iOS design direction. TestFlight and App Store availability will be announced only after verified distribution. Android remains in design exploration.
